Who we are

Luciano Souza

Born and raised in Salvador – Bahia. His dance career started at – Fundac an Afro Brazilian Dance company directed by Jailson Purificação

Luciano was also a dancer for the most prestigious Afro Brazilian dance company in the world, the renowned Bale Folcloric of Bahia.

This is where the base and foundation of his formation was built. Where he studied and performed ballet, contemporary, modern dance and various styles of Afro Brazilian, Brazilian Folclore, Orishas dance and culture to name just a few.

Some of the professionals involved in his dance and capoeira journey are Nildinha Fonseca, Vera passos, Rosangela Silvestre, Augusto Omolu, Ze Ricardo, Gilmar Sampaio, Zebrinha and capoeira with Mestre Zambi and mestre Jorge Le.

Luciano travelled the world with the Bale Folclorico of Bahia performing for a variety of audiences in Brazil, Europe, South and North of America.
He was a dancer of Bale Folcloric Of Bahia for 9 Years.

Luciano was also a dancer for – The Lion King musical. A Disney production Written by Sir Elton John, choreographed by Garth Fagan and directed by Julie Taymon who Luciano had the pleasure to work directly with.

Luciano has recently left The Lion King Musical being the record holder as the dancer to perform in his role for the longest time in any of the Lion King Productions worldwide.
Luciano is the only dancer in the globe to have performed the role of the ‘Bird Man’ for 17 years.
He has performed the LK Musical in Brazil, France, China and London West End.

He has performed as a guest artist in the Queen Elizabeth Jubilee, Oliver Awards, the BBC, Brazilian TV, Joice theater New York just to name a few

Luciano teaches and performs afro and Brazilian dances and has a goal to educate international audiences about the origins and development of Brazilian movement, identity and afro heritage.
